LONDON, July 31.

The weather was beautifully fine and the wicket good for the opening of the second match between the New Zealand cricketers and Glamorgan, at Swansea.

With Cowie under .treatment, for gastric influenza in London, and Dunning and Roberts unable to play, jthe New Zealanders?.faced; the difficult task of attempting to dislodge a county standing sixth oh the championship table.
