SAVINGS ON RAIL TRIPS

FIVE PER CENT. INTEREST As a further inducement to the public to save up for railway trips, the General Manager of the New Zealand Railways Department (Mr G. H. Mackley) announces a decision to grant interest at 5 per cent, on vouchers to the value of 10s or multiples of 10s. These vouchers may be obtained in exchange for the travel stamps issued at railway stations or may be bought for cash. Interest accrues from the date of issue of a voucher, but does not continue after the expiration of twelve months, if the voucher is not used for the puichase of a railway ticket within that period.
