MISSION FESTIVAL.
AT THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
PROGRAMME WELL RECEIVED. The third annual missionary festival of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church was held in St. Andrew’s Hall last evening. The programme, which had been arranged by the congregation’s missionary committee and was exceedingly, well received by the very large audience that filled the hall, was as follows: — St. Andrew’s and Allenton Sunday Schools, hymn, “Jesus Shall Reign” ; Girls’ Auxiliary, an interpretation of Calderon’s picture, “Ruth and Naomi,” and hymn. “I Feel the Winds of God To-day” ; Busy Bees, hymn, “The Whole World for Jesus” ; Junior Y.M.8.C., a Maori sketch, “An Incident of Early Days in New Zealand” ; after-church social hour, double quartette, “Jesus is all the World to Me”; P.W.M.U. and helpers, play, “Sister Greatheart Takes an Hour’s Rest” ; Mr L. J. Houston, talk, “Maori Missions” ; Elders and Managers, hymn, “Glorious Things of Thee are Spoken,” and as an encore, hymn, “Thou Whose Almighty Word” ; Y.W. Bible Classes, play, “The Real Presence,” and hymn, “From Greenland’s Icy Mountains.” The two Maori plays were' written for the festival by Mrs R. S. Watson. A collection was taken in aid of the Maori Mission Fund of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand.. The Rev. R. S. Watson presided and thanked all the helpers and performers. He pronounced the Benediction at the conclusion of the programme.
