BUILDING SOCIETY’S TRIBUTE.

MOTION OF SYMPATHY CARRIED.

The death of Mr F. W. Watt was referred: to at the meeting of directors of the Ashburton Permanent Building and Investment Society last evening. The chairman (Mr R. A. Collins) paid a tribute to the services of Mr Watt, and mbved the following motion: —

“That the directors record their sincere sense of the loss sustained by the society by the death of Mr F. W. Watt, and desire to place on record appreciation of the very valuable services rendered by him to the shareholders over a number of years as a director and chairman of the society, and further desire to tender sincere sympathy with Mrs Watt and family in their bereavement.”

The motion was carried by the directors standing in silence.
