ATTACK RENEWED.

MR JARDINE AND ARCHBISHOP. (United Press Association—Copyright.) NEW YORK, July 26. A message from Rochester states that the Rev. Anderson Jardine, replying to criticism in the Vatican newspaper “Osservatore Romano” of his reference to the Archbishop of Canterbury in his address at Baltimore on Thursday, said: ‘‘l am still unable to think of a description which fits the Archbishop of Canterbury more perfectly. “I am not surprised at the Vatican’s championship of the Archbishop. I welcome it because it proves to the world what England has known for many years, namely, that the Archbishop of Canterbury is too -friendly with the Vatican, and is doing more to destroy the work of the Reformation than anyone else in the Church of England.” In his first lecture in the Unitea States, delivered at Baltimore on July 22, Mr Jardine said: “The Duke of Windsor was driven from the throne by an ecclesiastical Archbishop of Canterbury and a grandmotherly person called Baldwin. Future generations will read of the Archbishop who cursed instead of praying, of a shrieking, demented priesthood, and of one little cleric who obeyed his conscience and gave an exiled king-emperor God’s blessing.”
