SYDNEY, October 7. The weather was fine, and there was. an attendance of 35,000 for jthe second day of the Australian Jockey Club's spring meeting. Bee was favourite for [the .Metropolitan Handicap, but was I never prominent, though she finished | sixth in a record field of 35. New York set a great pace in; the Steeplechase, but lost a lot of ground through jumping sideways. When he fell his rider, R. McSeveney, was injured Busra, who also fell in the Steeplechase, succumbed to his injuries. The following are the details of the racing: Shorts Handicap.—Colugo 1, Rosedell 2, Panacrc 3. MiMIOPOLITAN HANDICAP, of 20 soys each, with 4000 spvs added; second horse 800 soys and third horse 400 soys from the stake. One mile and a-half. . Mr T. C.
