The following were the entries of stock at Addington saleyards on Wednesday,, the figures for the previous week being given in parentheses: — 4571 sheep (6650), 828 cattle (1054), and 493 pigs (467),
An epidemic of scarlet fever which broke out in Mr Flower's house \ at Christ's College last. Friday is s of a mild type, and all the patients are convalescent. The disease has not spread to the other houses. The college ,is being thoroughly disinfected, and work will be resumed as usual on Wednesday morning.
