The following are the meteorological observations recorded at tho Ashburton Domain weather station for tho month of September:—Highest reading of baronu'tor, 30.52 inches on the "Sl&t; lowest re'iding of bajx>motor, 29.2 inches on tho 14th; highest reading of maximum thermometer, 81 degre-*! on tho 24th; lowest reading of thn msiximun: thoiometor, 46 degrcw. on tho ■30th, highest reading of minimum thermometer. .72 degree on tho 7th; lowest reeling pi minimum tliermomoter, 31 degrees o\i lho 11th. l''rcK,fc wa.s reeordei on 21 day:?, and ranged fj-om 10 degrees , downwards. l{.mi fell on seven days, tho heaviest -rainffJl being 51 points on the 2Dth.
