GALLANT ATTACK ON ZEPPELINS
■ (Received October 5, 1.35 p.m.) LONDON, October 4. Pilots Frederick Sowcfy and Alfred Brandon (New Zealander) have been awarded Distinguished Service Orders for gallantry in attacking Zeppelins on Soptombor 23. After a spirited chase and a ding-dong battle, Sowery_ and Brandon manconvrcd for position. Sowery had tho better luck, and his ■sliols struck the Zeppelin, which tell ablaze. Brandon stood by m case oi emergency, and later attacked a raider, which surrendered.
