Tlio fortnightly meeting of the above ( Lodge was held in the lodge room on Friday, September 29, N.G. Bro. Solway presiding over a fair attendance oi' 'members. Feeling reference" was made to the death in action of the late Bro. Arthur J. Childs, and the -following resolution was moved, and carried, the members standing:—" That this Lodge learns with profound sorrow of the death of our Brother Arthur James Childr, who fell in action in Franco whilst serving his King and country. During'a* long and valuable membership ho had endeared himself to his brother members, who see in, his last great sacrifice a noble ending to a good life. The .members desire to convey to Mrs Childs and her family their deepest sympathy with them in their irreparable loss." '.',.■ Nine members were Reported on the ,sick list, and sick pay. amounting to £12 was passed for payment. The Social Committee Reported that the social fixed for September 28 had been indefinitely- postponed, and the action of the committee was approved.
After routine business was transacted the Lodge was closed in duo form.
