CAMPAIGN BECOMES HEATED.
ROOSEVELT'SATfTACK ON
(Received October. 3, 9.4.5 a.m.) . WASHINGTON,' October 2. The presidential campaign is becoming heated. Mr Roosevelt assailed President Wilson, declaring that he had sacrificed the national honour in his European and Mexican policy by cowardly following tho lines of least resistance in the hope of political profit. Ho added:— "I have been asked what I would have dono if I had been President when tho Lusitania was torpedoed. Well, I would have' instantly taken possession of all the German ships interned in the United States, and would then have said: 'Now we will discuss, not what wo will give, but what we will give back."'
