On Tuesday a most enjoyable .Jicernoon was spent at tho Oarcw School, when tho pupils gave a musical jirternoon to obtain Christnias tor our boys at the front. Pollock Smith for tho work she had done with the children; to :!u> Rev. Pivfcer Wilson and the Rev. 'J. 0. Afuison for their splendid . snecches; and also to the ladies and friends who so generously responded a-nd made the gathering a success. Besides a large quantity of frills, n substuntinl amount wa,s raised by the :--n,l<> of Howprs (donated by Mesdames Clements and Reov«>s) and sweets A pot plant presented l>y Sirs .Kobert Bim was put up by gift auction, and after some sporting offers, was finally Inmded to Mrs Andrew Reid.

Tho following aro. gifts from the pupils:—Seven" tins of cocoa, live tins condensed milk, five tins cigarettes, fivo cakes of soap, one box bootlaces, three tins luncheon cheese, two writing outfits, 10 khaki handkerchiefs, eight boxes of chocolates, one tin coffee, two pairs of socks.
