A "TURKISH SURRENDER

(Reuters Message.)

CAIRO, September 27. The Sheriff of Mecca reports. that the Turkish garrison of Taif ,has surrendered. Fifty officers, 1800 men,. 10 guns, and a large quantity of mill tary stores were captured.

Taif is 65 miles east south-east of Mecca. It is defended by several forts and has a. celebrated mosque. The population is about 5000. .
