STUBBORN FIGHTING.
(Received September 25, 1.45 p.m.) LONDON, September 24.< A Russian communique states: — There was stubborn iighting from the Pripet to the .Roumanian frontier. The enemy, on Saturday, strongly resisted our advance .on the Upper Sereth. We repelled all counterattacks. Our Caucasus detachments advanced southward of Ellen.
