MEETING,OF THE COUNCIL
. WELLINGTON, September 21. The Council of tho Dominion Bowling Association met to-day, Colonel Collins (president; in the chair.
Mr J. j. Roberts was eiectcd secretary and Hr'A..E. Fowler treasurer.
The levy on clubs was fixed'at 3d per member. Tho receipts last year w.ere £130, and the expenses £.152. It was decided that the next tournament should consist of singles, doubles, and rinks, the profits to be devoted to patriotic purposes. The tournament will begin on January 8 and last a week.
The Dnnedin Centre was given permission to hold a- tournament at Easter.
Applications from South Auckland and Napier wore referred to , the . respective centres.
It was decided to obtain reports from ;ee.ntrea < where there were bowl-testers as to whether th«v v/ero satisfy ctorv.
A discussion took place on the two feet on tho mat rule, and it was resolved to ■■ request centres- to' sco that they rule-was observed, but not to introduce ;>, poufi'lty at present.
Dunoclin waa granted permission to held a doubles tournament at Christ-J mas.
