HAYWARD'S PICTURES
"THE ROSARY."
There have been several motion pictures entitled " Th© Rosary (screened jn Ashburton, but it is safe to say that none have equalled the production screened at Bin Majesty s Theatre last evening before a large audience. The picture is produced by the Selig Company, ■ which became famous after tho production of ' The Spoilers." Although the .film took up ■practically the whole programme, tho interest was not allowed to wane at any time during the whole screening. The story is too well known to need recapitulating, and suffice it; to say that the Selig production is a faithful representation of the original theme with pleasing embellishments. Its action is wide, gaining strength as.it proceeds, and needing space in the development of its situations and climaxes. • There are many of these, and tlu'y present excellent scope for the ability !of Miss Kathlyn Williams'•,and they literally make "The Rosary." The photography is ''exquisite, and-, tho .magnificent scenes range from a rustic farmstead in Ireland.to a layishly-fur- !* mshod mansion in New York. "The programme also includes the latest number of tho " Pathe Gazette."
