TINWALD.
A'large amount of interest- was manifested in the biennial election of commissioners to the Tinwald Town Board, 177 votes being registered. The polling in the morning was comparitively slow,, the majority of the votes being recorded in the afternoon. Nine candidates "were nominated, tiJie highest of the successful ones polling 120 votes and the lowest 39. There was no election in 1914. Five commissioners were' required, kiid the following were elected:—• ' Votes. William Harvey 'Bell • ... 120 Thomas Williams ... 107 Harry Burton Milliehamp... 102 Thomas Wilson ... ... 94 William Hop wood ... ... 88 informal ... ... ... 6 The following were the defeated candidates:—David Walter Teppett Vti vo*os, Jam us Hampton (69), .benjamin Wills ((59), and ■ 'inomas Wiuiam lVtrite (39). Xhe new members on the board are Messrs Jdopu'docl and Wilson, who take the place of Messrs Hampton and Teppett, who were defeated.

In returning thanks to the ratepayers for the support given him, Mr Williams said that he noticed that new blood had been introduced. "Whether this would prove advantageous or not of course'--remained'to 1 be seen. He again extended thanks for his return, an 1 :;aid he would, continue to give of his best for the welfare of the district.
