AN AUCKLAND CASE,
AUCKLAND, September 20. The manual branch of tho Auckland ! Education Board having a vacancy tor ' a bookkeeper supervisor, communicated ■with the Returned Soldiers' Employi ment Bureau, which recommended ' Sergeant-Major Green. When the latter applied for the position he was m- ! formed by the Director that he had decided to recommend A. Schultze, , whoso qualifications eminently fitted him for 'tho position. j At a board meeting several members ' tooK exception to the Directors action, and maintained that preference j should be given to a returned soldier. ■| Answering questions, Mr Schultze i said he was 21 years of age, and that ! a recruiting officer had informed him ! that probably he would not be required i for active service. j Though Schultze could be traced , back to German antecedents, his father is a Scotchman.
