AMSTERDAM, September 19, - The Kaiser has conferred the " Oak Leaves, pour le v Merite," upon the Crown Prince. The latter, in announcing the honour to the troops at Verdun, says: "Seldom in history have such gre>at things been accomplished by a single army. Their accomplishment required an utter contempt for death, the boldest daring in attack, and persistence in retaining' gains." .';•■■♦■
