(Received September 19, 10.40 a.m.) ■ NEW YORK, September 18. The Americans who escaped death when the .British •steamer Kelviria was torpedoed on /September. 2; arrived- by the Tusoania. They report that it is .unqucsiaonablo that a German submarine attacked the vessel, on which wore 28, Americans, mostly muleteers. The State Department took the men's
depositions, Imt it is understood j-hat no .further■■.-.action will be taken.
Tho men informed the State Department that-the submarine torpedoed the steamer, without any warning, at 2 o'clock in tho morning. The torpedo struck the port side. Although it was evident the shin was sinking, the submarine did not attempt to render assistance, and tho crew were forced to remain in a small boat for 14 hours un-; til rescued by a British trawler.' . *
