AN APPEAL IN AMERICA

The Commission for the Relief of Belgium is asking Americans for 1,000,000 dollars each month in order to avert widespread sickness and death owing to the lack of food. The director of the commission in America reports an alarming increase of tuberculosis, particularly among Belgian children, j duo to lessened physical resistance owing to inadequate diet. .There is great' mortality among the children. ,
The commission bases its estimate of supplies on the assumption that the war will last another year. •..■:■
