Tho annual meeting of shareholders in the Canterbury Farmers' Co-opera-tive Association was hold to-day, and iv:i..s -somewhat livdy and protracted, many .sh.weliokiers epmplaiuing of the nou-'q-llccatum of the itsual bonus _ on ■customers'- business dori'e. .The directors explained'-.that-this was due.to the extra cost of working, through the war and loss on'wheat through the- stoppage- of exportation. •A■'motion to adjourn for a week and refer the report back for reconsideration of th'>'bonus question was lost on a- show of hand's, and the report adopted. . A proposal to alter the articles of association to give the directorate power to federate-wi th otlior associations was •objected to, as going too far. On ■ «how of rn-nd« the proposal was declared lost., but on appeal to tho ballot it was carried by 475 votes to 27. The total turnover for the year was •£1.204.000. and tho net profit £23,000, or about £10.,000 less than the previous year.
