There was a large and appreciative gathtering at Winslovv on Wednesday > evening to bidv farewell to Privates <T." McGee, W. McGee, K. Moore, apd Petty Officer Body, who are in the district on final leave before departing to' the front. Mr T\ Home, on behalf of the residents of the district, presented ' each soldier with a medal, and exprosr,- ---' ed a wish that all would come back safe | and sound. The soldiers suitably rn- | sponded. During the evening songs ! and recitations were given by Mr 'Home, Private Hicknian, Private J. : Goldsmith, and Miss McCkse. A danoe | followed, "the "imisic ~ bbfrig kindly'.'supj plied by Mr H. McConnell and Miss | Hickman, and Mr *F. Harris carried out the duties of M.C. in his usual and capable style. Refreshments were supplied by the ladies.
