London, February 26. Half a million's worth of New South Wales Treasury bills have been sold, and the balance, £226,000, will be sold privately. "H nH Sydney, February 27. The Land Company of Australasia has resolved voluntarily to wind up. The deficiency amounts Id £130,000.

Messrs Henry S, Fitter and Sona, Central Meat Market, London, report for New Zealand mailj January 21, 1893. — Puring the past fortnight trade in the market has been very fair, and prjqes generally haye been better. The supply pf Atner|CßU beef ha<* been much shotter, and prices have ruled higher, but within the last two days the improvement has not been maintained, the reason being that the weather has turned damp and mild. The reduced quantities of \merican beef has given an impetus to the frozen meat trade, and prices have jraproired. Tfjera has ; « s been a goo^ supply of Queensland bepf on the market, and it hss been goir,g off fairly well at the quotations given. There has been a fair supply of Scotch mutton, but Continental mutton is now coming very short, and prices are much better. Frczan mutton is now in more demand, and prices are slowly hardening. Best quality sheep are scarce, and the outlook for the Spring is, we think, satisfactory. Australian and River Plate sheep are now doing better. Enquiries are just being made for New Zealand lamb, and the early shipments ought to do well if the quality is good. Pigs continue short and dear.
