EMBEZZLEMENT. Sypnby, February 23. Bennett, late manager of the Paddiugton branch of the English and Scottish Chartered Bank, who was convicted of the embezzlement of large sums of. money belonging to the institution, was sentenced to ten years' imprisonment. THE NEW GOVERNOR. Sir G. R. Dibbs has expressed himself satisfied with the appointment of the Hoc. Robert Duff, as Governor of New South Wales. Sir Saul Samuel cables thit he is well qualified for the position.
