Dunedin, February 20. The following final payments for the D.J.C. Autumn Meeting were made tonight : — Champagne Stakes, 250 soys.—Outpost, Lake Shell, Gitano, Spinaway, Persuasion, Response. Dunedin Cup, of 600 soys ; two miles and a distance. Ht lb st lb Prime Wurden 8 11 Captive . * 7 4 Clanranald ... 8 7 Awarua Rose 7 0 Scot Free ... 7 9 Tempest ... 611 Thame ... 7 5 Wyvern ... 6 9 The D.J.C. have added a race on Cup day, the proceeds to be in aid of the 1 Queensland Relief Fund.
Duke din, February 21. In the Cup race Cochrane will ride Prime Warden ; Clark, Clanranald.; Gall, Scot Free ; Price, Thame ; Kay, Captive,Ross, Awarua Rose ; Byne, Tempest ; E. Connop, Wyvern. The weather promises very fine and if there is no rain the course will be very hard. The general opinion is that the issue lies between Olanranald and Prime Warden, but there is no money about either straight out. The Publicans' should produce a great race between Heather Bell, Huguenot and Vogengang.
