THE WELLINGTON RACING DISPUTE.
Wellington, February 21. Judge Richmond delivered judgment in the suit brought by McKinnon against the Racing Club to recover the value of the Telegraph Stakes won by a horse whose nomination was sent to Dunedin in i error. His Honor held that a receipt for nominations at a post office did not fu'fil Che conditions laid down, but they should have been in the hands of the secretary ac the Olub's hotel by the appointed time. The action of the Stewards in accepting them was ultra vires. Judgment was given for plaintiff, with costs on the lowest dcale. The decision involves the Wellington Rasing Club in a euin of £190 exclusive of ■ousts..-
