A local paper says that in Napier influenza has attacked horses, dogs, and pou - try. luthe cai»e of horses and dogs the animals suffer from a more or less pronounced paralysis of the hindquarters. The work of the Royal Commission on labor, which h\s been Bitting for many months, is now (writes the London correspondent of the "New Zealaud Herald") drawing to a close, itie Assistant Commissioners, who have been investigating the condition of the agricultural laborers in the several counties in the United Kingdom, have pretty well finished their work, at least aa far as England is concerned, nearly every county having been visited. Many of their reports have been printed for the instruction of the Royal Commissioners, but have not yet been published. When they do appear they will show that the earnings of the men are much greater than they are commonly supposed to be, and they will contain a great deal of information with respect to the condition of cottages', sanitary j arrangements, supply and rents of allot- 1 ments, the condition of occupiers of small holdings, the hours of labor, the extent of | migration, and many other details. j Messrs Colemane and Sons' Eucalypti Extract (manufactured at Mittagong and Cootamundra, New South Wales) has ! attained a reputation as a specific for affections of the chest, lungs, consumptions asthma, diphtheria, and a variety of other complaints.
