REAPER AND BINDER EXHIBITION.

» ■-— An exhibition of reapers and binders was held yes'erday, on the farm of Mr F. Cass, Wakanui. JThe machines which were present were the Deering (Mr J. G. There were about fifty farmers oa the ground •nd a considerable amount of Interest was taken m the day's proceedings. The crop operated on was a p*ddook of oats, estimated to go abont thirty bushels to the aore. The groend h»i not been rolled, and was consequently uneven _nd ■oft, adding conslderab'y to the draught of the mtohines. The Deering maohlne, driven by S. Hump, had before starting In the crop a good n»any friends among those present, and before the day was but had made a good many more by reason of the excellent work performed. Several alterations have been made In this maohlne ilnoe last year, and It now seems eqa»l to anything. It was drawn by two light horses, which at the fi lch d d not appear to be In aty way distressed. A 73 ice even a übble was left, and the sheaves were well paoked, and tightly tied, with good tquare butts The BranVford maohlne was a 7ft cu\ and of suoh light draught that two horses drew It with ease Capital work was done, the cut being all that could be desired, aud good ■heaves being made. The driver was G. Cox, The Walter A. Woods maohlne was of the single-apron pattern and was driven by H. Hunt. Tbe driver was at a disadvantage In having had no previous experience of the machine, and early m the afternoon something went wrong, causing the maohlne to frequently throw "young* 1 sheaves: Whsn this was Notified, however, the work done seemed to be of first- class quality. The butter shown by Ur Aatan, who Is the Inventor. hai bten previously described. It Is simple, and does Its work perfectly. It oau be fitted to any machine and donbtlesi will speedily find favor, understand that Meisrs P.andD. Djoc»d have undertaken tbe manufacture and •re now prepared to eupply these butters. Those who attended the exhibition were hospitably entertained by Mr Pass .
