Sir, — I am sorry to have to trouble you, but cannot allow Mr J, G. ResteU's and Mr p. After the Council refused the petition to make a bye-law to prevent the sale of intoxicants m the Domain I saw Mr Resfell, and asked him whether he was against the granting of licenses m the Domain. He s aid he was, and I then asked him to call a meeting of the Committee, and let us act m unison, to which he agreed. I am satisfied chr.t if he had been able to attend he would h ye voted with the majority. If he had been as careful of his own honor as of the Council's (who sold our birthright) there would have been no license granted for the Domain during his term of ofice. -At the Committee meeting Mr Braddell raised the question whether Mr Thomas would feel himself fcound by the decision of the majority, and I put it to him. Mr Thomas said he would be very glad, but would have to vote against it, and after the meeting was over he said he would go and tell them they could not get the license. If Mr Thomas was Hot bound, words would not bind him. I am, etc., Robert Alcqrn.
