Th« paplla should be very grateful to the good Sisters for the o»re they took of them and the good education given by them, as their whole time was devoted to their Interests, and wordly matters did not concern them. U was very different with the teaobers of the public sohools In New Za^land, as some of these were married, aad others would like to be, but of oootae to the c«se of vl"e Sisters ie wm quite otherwise. He trusted tha pupiis would muoh enjoy their holidays, and show by their behaviour while away from the schools, that they were soholars of the good Sisters of the Mission. Father Ohastagnon then read the prlza list as given balow and presented the prizes wbioh consisted of valuable books, albums, ladies bags, fancy artloles, and dolls for the little ones In great number ; soma of the pupils »s will be seen by the pfzi Hat taking several awards. A groat variety of fsnoy work, needle work, paintings on poroalaln etcl a drawings and othee specimens of the work of tbe pupils were dißptayed In one of tbe .class rooms, and tfaeae were greatly admired by tho visitors, showing aa they did that ornamental and tasteful work was dillgrnt<y~taßgb^p m well as the other ordinary lctsous of a lid<es eohool.
