Chbistohukoh, Deo-mber 18 There is to be no market next week, and the sale to-day was double the ordinary size. Fat cattle and sheep were both m great force, and other entries weie also unusually large. It was late before the sale concluded. The attendance was very large, and the weather I was aU that could be desired. Fat Cattle — There was an unusually heavy entry, and a good attendance of buyers. Competition was kee.n until nearly the tail end of the market, when as quality fell off values suffered. Best beef made from 17s 6d to 2is per 100 lb j inferior from 15s. Store Sheep -A good entry met with a brisk demand, There was again a good inquiry for hoggets. Crossbred wethers made from 5s 6d to ios 7d. There was a large entry of really fine lambs, and the demand was good, one pen of Hampshire Downs going up to 13s 6d. Fat Sheep— The pens were filled with Bco good class. Sest freezers realised fully s#d; very fat and inferior quality reached i#d per lb. There was a very dragging sale for store cattle. Pigs sold well, though few m market.
