CHRISTCHURCH CORN EXCHANGE REPORT

The following ia the Corn Exobange report for the week ending Friday, Deoember 13 : — Utter stagnation exists as regards cereals. Wheat has been quite negleoted, the only outlet being the United Kingdom. Two vessels— the Kylemore and the Auokland — have sailed for London during the week, taking between them come 17,000 saoka, Oats are ah o without the least animation. ' Aocount sales reoeived lately from Melbourne are most unsatisfactory, leaving a heavy lobs to shipper?. Barley — But little doing m the abaenoe of prime malting offering. Peas and beans see but little business, the want of tonnage to the United Kingdom affeoting the enquiry for the latter. Potatoeß (old) The Benson having passed, quotations oannot be given. Grass Seed— BeiDg the off season, quotations are but nominal. Butter is, perhaps, a shade better on the week, the looal enquiry being somewhat more marked. Cheese remains at last week's quotations. The following are our quotations for the week : — Wheat— Tusoan, 33 2d to 33 3d ; Pearl, 2a lOd to 2s lid ; Hunter's, 2s 9d to 2s lOd. Oats — Prime milling, 2s ; heavy feed, Id less ; other feed sorts according to quality. Basle*— Malting, nominally, 3s 6d ; feed, Peas— Blue Prussian (true), 3s 6d to 33 9d ; feed varieties, 2s 9d to 3s, Beans— 9a. Grass Seed — Maobine.dressed ryegrass, nominally, 4a 6d. Gooksfoot, 3£d. The above quotations are those paid to farmers for delivery, f.o.b. Saoks extra.
