DISAPPEARANCE OF A BANK TELLAR

The teller of a local branch of the Bank of New Zealand has suddenly disappeared, and an investigation of the accounts revealed that he has embezzled tbe sum of £1 3,4*4- The defalcations are attributed to speculation m mining stock, but the Bank authqr'ties have succeede m recoveringd scrip from the defaulter's tyroker, representing between £'foqo and ;£?ooo, and they expect to get more. At present there is no trace of the absconder.
