The men employed at Albert Docks have not agreed to the general compact, as they are getting higher wages than the rate agreed on, Efforts are being made to bring about a general agreement before November 4th.

One hundred thousand Durham miners have intimated their intention of demanding an increase of 15 per cent m wages and also that a week's work should consist of five days of seven hours each. ,
