PURGING LONDON MUSIC HALLS
A BISHOP IN FAVOR OF THE BALLET. [Pbb Prksh Association.] London. Ootobar 13. A largely attended meeting was held at St James' Hall, for the purpose of considering the best steps to take m supporting the London Council m its endeavor to purge the London music halls, The Right Rev Dr Temple, Bishop of London, m his remarks on the question, spoke m favor of dancing and i comic songs, and said he conld not give his vote m favor of the suppression of the ballet. The Bishop of Bedford supported the steps being taken to suppress entertainments of the nature complained
