TINWALD GOSPEL TEMPERANCE SOCIETY.

The closing meeting of the above Society and Band of Hope was held In the Templar Hall on Tuesday evening. The meeting was well patronised by a goodly oorapsny evidently expecting a treat, and they were not disappointed The Rev A. Blake took the chair, and after Mr Sawle's opening prayer, made some appropriate remarks. J^eoitations by quits a large number of young people^ from seven to fifteen years of age, were admirably given. At intervals songs from Hoylo were sung by all, while others were sung by some of the children alone, and their voices blended very sweetly together. Four dialogues given during the evening by the members of the Band of Hope proved very interesting ; another given by three members of the Flemington Society, pourtraying one secret of a happy home, was of unusual merit and not only amused and delighted, but Instructed, "The farmer's Glee" by Messrs 4>unn, Osborne, and Dakar* took so well tha,t It had to be repeated, and the la,st named friend sang m his usual pleasing way •• Do they mlas me at home." 1 Exoellent and telling addreises on the merits and and. progress of the Temperance oiuse were delivered by Meaa,rs Sawle and Watklns^ During an Interval refreshments, were handed round In variety a.od nbundaaoe by mai;y willing helpers, and just before bhe usual vote of thanks Mr Iffehariy read a valedjofrory address to Mr Walt, who la leaylng th,o district, Teoogn.lslng the valoe of his lervlpes.
