Libel Action.
New Plymouth, September 25. With regard to the libel action, Mynolt T Oorkill, the latter has been advised that m view of all the oiroumstanoes attending the publication of the apology signed Hooper, which appeared m the "Taranakl Herald," he is technically responsible for its publication, and Mr Samuel, his solicitor, has therefore this day paid into Court the Bum of forty shillings by way of damages m the aotion. Respondent used to frighten her by alleging she committed bigamy because she had married before. Having proof of hei first huibind'a death she married respondent In her maiden mine, beosußo ■ha was aoder age when first married. He knew theie faols before the marriage. The ease will last over to-day.
