The postmen are demanding an increase of their wages to 6d an hour per day of eight hours, and ihe bakers are agitating for a limit of the working day to ten hours. Burns is organising the men for a strike. (Bsoetved September 24, locn.) London, September 23 The bakers threaten to go out on strike on November 9 for shorter hours and higher wages, unless their demands be conceded m the meantime. Burns and Champion, the Socialists, are assist- , ing them. The postmen are forming a union for j the purpose of securing to the members better pay and shorter hours of labor.
