TERRIBLE EARTHQUAKE IN JAPAN.

(Rnoolvod B«pt. 23, 1245 p.m ) Thursday Island, September 23. There was a terrible earthquake at Kuraanioto, Japan, on July 29th. There were fif y-:hree shocks. Thirtyone houses were demolished, and fifteen persons killed. Bridges were destroyed and the ground was rent m fifteen places.
