GRAIN AND PRODUCE.
• The following is the Corn Exchange report for the week ending Friday September 13 :— The dearth of active business during the past week precludes 'he necessity of many remarks. Wheat is still m a depressed state and with the exception of Sydney cables which points to a rather more assuring view of this line, nothing of any note has transpired. In oats the market has about reached its fullest value, although good lines of milling might find a better market later on; seed sorts will -not participate owing to the rapid growth of pasture m the neighboring colonies. Barley is without alteration m any way, values are therefore not affected. Grass seeds do not maet with such ready acceptance as holders would desire sowing being nearly completed and stores m South over the ordinary reqairements: Derwent potatoes are not so much m request as the late season of drought m New South Wales would have Jed us to e*pect, but the prices now obtainable are quite up to. and over the average of ordinary seasons.
