The weather has been very dry this winter. We have had a fair share of enow, but very little rain. There are no signs of springs rising out of the ground this winter aa taey have done for several winters past. One man thought bj would fxperlment a little, so at tha fore end of July he limed a qqarfceof au iem of grass and o'over. Homo people thought he would burn tba g.-a?a by putting it m without slaoklng it first, but at the middle of Anguit he kicked some of the heaps that had slacked from the lumps after being soattered when first put on, aad uades these little heaps tbe olover was quite green—the leavea had nearly found their way through tbe lime, and there were no signs of olover shooting any where elss. That shows that the lime being put on the around before it is slaoked, warms the ground and oaosas an early shoot of grass. Everyone seems to have great faith m the lime, but th y have not all got the means to go In for tl though the price Is within the reach of most people. There la a little dissatisfaction between some of th* members of the School Committee In thia dbt-lot and the sohool master, which his oausedjome unpleasant feeling both m tbe Committee and amongst some of the neighbors.
