GRAIN AND PRODUCE.

The following is the Corn Exchange report fer the week endiDg Friday, August 23rd : — The English advices are scarcely so reassuring j the weather appears to have taken a turn for the better, and prices have net advanced. South Russia and Austria, however, appear to have suffered through drought, and a shortage of yield is expected, America, on the whole, has a good crop. Sydney has been making enquiries for Tuscan, but up to this sales have been few, holders being firm at prices far above buyers' views. Locally millers are busy, but their stocks do noi yet require replenishing. Oats are very dull ; there is no speculation, and enquiiies from Australia are nil — m fact Sydney quotations are but little above prices ruling here. Stocks, however, are Dot heavy, so that we do not expect to see lower lates. Barley is dull j the Melbourne enquiry is only for prime, which now is hard to obtain. Potatoes have a fair enquiry, sales being made at 67s 6d for prompt delivery to steamer, and 70s for delivery next month. Dairy produce is very dull, and prices are without alteration. The following are our week's quotations ; — Wheat.— Prime 'luscan, good enquiry, 3s 7d to 3s 8d ; Pearl, 3s 3d to 3s 4d ; Hunters, 2d : broken, 2s 6d to 2s gd. OATS— Milling, 2s gd ; shorl", feed, 2s Si } long and inferior, 2s 5d to 2s 7d. Barley — Prime malting, 3s gd ; medium, 3s to 3s 3d j feed, 2s 6d to 2s Bd. Beans— 3s 3d to 3s 4d. Peas, 3s 6d to 3s gd for Prussian blues j feed, 3s. Potatoes, 67s 6d to 70s, country stations. Grass Seeds. — Ryeerass, machine dressed, 4s 6d to 4s gd ; farmers' Hoes, 3s 6d to 4s ; cocksfoot, quiet, 3d to 3#d f or heavy machine dressed ; 2J£d to 2#d tor fanners' lines. The above prices are those paid to farmers for delivery, f.o.b. Sacks extra.
