WAKANUI ROAD BOARD

The monthly meeting of the Wakanul Road Board iraa held on Saturday. — Present ; Messrs Braoe (Chairman) Llll, Ooa and Straahan. CORRESPONDENCE. Letters were rend From Reoelver of Land Revenue— The Olerk reported that the matter bad been attended to. — From Aahbarton Ooanty Council, informing the Board that owing to the small attendaaoe at the Itst meeting of t^e Ooanoll, consideration of the Wakanut creek question bad beea pratponed. — From Mr David Wilson, wlih roferenoe to the alteration m the valuation roll of the occupiers of oertaln leoMons.— From the late Mr B. MoLeary's trustees on the same subjeot : —The Olerks were instruoted to make the neoessary alterations. NEW MEMBERS. Mr E. G. Crlap, solicitor, wrote advising the Biatd that the funds of the Board could not be expended In getting up a petition for the eleotlon of extra members, as the getting op and presentation of the petitions are the ratepayers' business. surveyors' report. The Purveyor's reported tlmt levels had been taken for drain on Rnnla 1 road, bat < nothing furtbee had been done as the maintenance man bad been engaged m more urgent works. The tussocks m Smllhfield road had been cleared. The contractors for forming part of Buokley's road bad mt boen paid the final payment as the work had not been passed. PETITION. A petition was reoelved from a number of ratepayers praying that the tnssccks should be cleared from the oentre of parts of Stanley and Dromore Roads, from the irrigation F*rm to Rule's Road : —It was resolved to call for tenders for this work and also a pleoe of Gardiner's Road to bo In by next meeting of the Board, BOOKLttY's ROAD.
