[PBR PRESS ASSOCIATION.] ' London, Augnst 18. Antwerp wool sales will take place between August 27th and September 4th ; 17,000 bales Australian wool have arrived and 1000 bales more are on the way. Ox hides, 81s 4d ; cows, 27s Bd. The English wheat market is dull ; continental, inactive ; American steady. Australian flour average, 275. Aus- 1 tralian wheat, ex warehouse, 40s ; New Zealand long berried, 38s 6d ; market quiet. Svgar — German beet, 18s 7a ; Java, 2 Is, Pig iron, 465. Frozen mutton, s£d ; beef, no change for some days. I The Bank of England reserve is £1 1,894,000 ; proportion of reserve to liabilities S7£ per cent. Consols, 98. Freights generally are unchanged, but steamers are advancing somewhat after the late decline. At auction 500 bales New Zealand hemp were sold from £22 10s to £28 10s. Eleven hundred cases kauri gum have been sold at from 5s to 8s advance. Tallow-* medium mutton, 26s 6d ; beef, 24s 6d. The arrivals of wool to date are 215,000 bales of which 43,000 bales have been sent forward. New Zealand 4 per cent, inscribed stock, 107£ j market active.
