There are dow do less than 76 notices of questions on the order paper of the Home, and the Premier has promts :d to consider a anggesftlpn that a morning kitting be held for the purpose of answering this large aoenmnlatlon of questions, and also another suggestion that queries should be answered la writing.

Tie debate on tbe Property Tax and Financial Statement is still dragging its alow lengih aloner, preaamab'y with avew to obtaining a definite and certain majority for the Government. Tbe Blatemeuis current last night and ti;ia morning that the Government bad a majority of five aod seven is now denied, and the Govrumeat whip will now only give four as his majority, The division will be olose. and if every man vote aooording to his honest convict : on tho Government will be in a minority. Several members pledged to the abolition of tbe Property Tax have now dec'ded to vote with tho Government to keep them in office instead of walking oat as they had intended. It is generally understood that tho division will not be taken till Thursday night. The speakers to-night have been Dr Newnvin, MrW. P. Beeves and MrT. Mackenzie, and at the conclusion of an »ble speech in defence of the Property Tax by the lnst named the Honso adjourned at 10.40.

Mfnisters deny that Mr Oonolly has been appointed aJndge, but this is regarded n* diplomatic as the appointment may influence a vote.
