Florinda Castellano, an Italian on his travels, said to be a nephew of Signor Crispi, the Italian Premier, has recovered damages from the Grosvenor Hotel Company, Sydney. The Company sued Costellano for ;£49 hotel bill. He paid into Court and put m a counter claim for £2000 damages for wrongful arrest on a writ of capias. The jury found for plaintiff company for and costs, and for defendant for and costs.

Rear- Admiral Fairfax has been appointed second naval Lord of the Admiralty, and leaves for England m about a month. The appointment of his successor as Admiral m charge of the Australian squadron has not yet been notified. ■
