BUDGET PROPOSALS.

MelißOubkk, July 31 Among the proposals made m the Budget brought down by the Treasurer last night it is contemplated by Government to ask Parliament to abolish the duties on cocoa and kerosene, to increase the duty on eggs to two shillings per gross, on jams and lollies 2d per lb, fruits and vegetables preserved 3d per lb, pulp fruits •d, butter and oleomargarine is per ib. There are a number of other slight alterations not yet indicated. It is proposed that the tonnage dues be reduced by half. The duty on cereals will come into force on September z.
