THE BOROUGH SCHOOL.
Whatever difference of opinion there may be as to the desirableness of the present School Committee's proceeding with the selection of a headmaster for the Borough School, there can be no doubt among parents and guardians of tbe excellence of the choice that has been made. The gentleman upon whom the. choice of the' Committee fell, Mr E. Just, is ft teacher whose work has been done under the eyes, as it were, of the Board itself. As second master of the East Christchurch School, which has on its rolls 1800 scholars, Mr Just has earned an enviable reputation, for the possession of all the characteristics whioh fit a man to instruct and control a large school. Bis previous record incloses a long term of successful mastership of a school as large as that to which ho is now appointed. His -attainments are of » very high order, and his personal character is above reproach, and suoh as make him a desirable citizen of any community. As a prominent member of t)io I durational Institute, Mr Just Is well* known as making a constant study of the science ot teaching.
