GREAT SHEEP SALE
On Tuesday the Tlnwald yards pre aented an unusually animated appearance owiog to tho special sale of ihe whole ot a flock of 14 000 oroaabred. sheep ~by trie New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Ageucj Lo in conjunction with Messrs Matson snd 00., m addition to the ordinary entries. The attendance was large and representative, inoluding many prominent buyers from different parts, Messrs J. T, aia'tson and ifi. Gh ritaveley officiated as sales men, diyldiag the labors, and may be congratulated upon the result, every line being cleared at full values without waste of time. A special feature of the sale w<*» tbat nearly every lot passed into the hands of farmers, dearly showing that they are alive to their own interests as regards the future, when suitable olaases of sheep are^, placed upon ihe market for bona fide Bile. Following are the prioes— lßo3 crossbred hoggets (Ooto be; born) 7* 7d to 8s Id ; 260 halfbred ewes. Q* 9d ; 500 three-quarter fat we (hers, 13a 6i ; 800 two-tooth quarterback ewes, m l«mb, 8j ; 1000 four, six and eight- tootb do do, 7* 3a; 100 quarter I baok lambs, 5i ' d ;,300 naif bred iamb. 7a ' 3d } 800 mixed age* wcjthere, 8j 3i ; 600 two-tooth quarterback ewes, 8) ; 1000 crossbred lambi, 7« lid to 8j; 1000 forward wathera, lis 6d ; 2000 mixed ages crossbred ewes, m lrmb, 7* to 7i 7d , 1000 fall mouth memo ewes, m lamb, d» lOi to 4s j I*soo orosibred ewes, mixed ages, 7s to 7a Id j cull orosibred ewes, 4i 7i to 5 j ; .oall lambs, 4t 9d to6i.
